The Knights vs. The Jihadists
19 June 2007 @ 8:55AM >> The Washington Times reports that Pakistan is condemning Britain’s decision to grant knighthood to author Salman Rushdie. You may recall that Rushie’s 1988 novel The Satanic Verses led to an Iranian fatwa being issued against him that ordered his death. This leads to the Quote of the Day, courtesy of Mohammed Ijaz ul-Haq, Pakistan’s Religious Affairs Minister:
The West is accusing Muslims of extremism and terrorism. If someone exploded a bomb on his body, he would be right to do so unless the British government apologizes and withdraws the ’sir’ title.
In other words, do what we say—and don’t accuse us of being terrorists!—or we’ll blow you up.
